What year did you start riding? 1991
How did you get involved with motocross? My dad raced when he was younger and he
got my whole family in on it and I have raced ever since I was 5
What do you like most about motocross? I love most the thrill of racing. When you
are on the line waiting for that gate to drop and going into the first corner not
knowing what's gonna happen is the best feeling there ever is
What does your significant other think of the sport? Well since he also races of
course its gonna be ok with him.
What has been your best accomplishment in motocross? My best accomplishment I
would have to say would be winning Gainesville, Florida. The winter Olympics is
one of the biggest amateur nationals in the US and i won the Supercross national
in November of 2000. I also got 8th in my first pro race at Millville
What has been your worst experience in motocross? My worst experience would be
breaking my leg right before the winter Olympics in 2001. I had surgery and then I
had to go to the national to watch my older brother race while I was on crutches.
Nothing is harder but to watch races while being hurt.
What do you feel is an area that could be improved in any aspect of motocross?:
I would have to say track safety. Why does there have to be a 90ft. triple when
it could be a 90ft tabletop. I also think why do people have to whip it out on a
jump while someone is behind them. I think it is dangerous cause someone could get
hurt.
What is your favorite track?: Kahoka and Loretta Lynns
Who is your favorite pro rider and why? Greg Schnell and Travis Preston. Jeremy
McGrath. I have always looked up to him. I love his style and when he falls down
he can always get back up quick and get goin again
What other sports or hobbies do you participate in? I play high school basketball
for Waterloo West
Who maintains your bike? My dad (Jack Klein Jr.)
What tracks do you race or ride at? Kahoka, Millville, Waterloo, New Hartford,
Cedar Rapids and I also race the regional qualifiers for Loretta Lynns
What local rider do you like? I really don't have any favorites but I like
watching Teddy Maier and Cody Gilmore
Give a brief description of why you enjoy the sport of motocross in your own words.
I love the sport of motocross. The people are great and I think its a big thrill.
